The short answer

A chemical peel applies an acid solution that removes the outer layers of skin so smoother skin replaces them. Depth decides everything: superficial peels cost the least and need days, medium peels need a fortnight, deep peels are a one-time procedure. Know the depths

Match the depth to the problem, not to the marketing. Dullness and rough texture respond to superficial peels. Established sun damage and lines need medium depth. If a clinic offers a "deep" peel casually, treat that as a reason to ask more questions rather than fewer.

Who can perform one in Georgia

Georgia licenses the premises as well as the practitioner. Under the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers rules governing establishments, a facility must have a permanent and definite location, is subject to board inspection during business hours, and must display its current establishment licence, the licences of everyone working there, and the most recent inspection report in an open area.
